As construction of the new West-A portion of SR 522 ramps up for April, Puget Sound Energy has started to relocate utility lines due to conflicts with the planned 522 changes.

The lines, including gas mains and other services, are being moved this week just east of 61st Avenue Northeast in Kenmore.

While PSE is working on relocation, the bus lane and right lane of eastbound 522 will be closed to traffic – leaving only one lane open for commuters.

The work is expected to take approximately three weeks, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., during which the Business Access and Transit (BAT) lanes will be closed.

The work is required to start construction of the West-A corridor, between 61st Avenue Northeast and 68th Avenue Northeast, in April of this year.
