The Lake Washington School District sought to renew three expiring levies to cover the full cost of funding for schools on the Feb. 8 special election ballot. The total tax rate for all three levy measures would be $2.84 per $1,000 of assessed property value. Tuesday night’s election posting showed 26,820 ballots counted so far out of 121,714 registered voters.

Educational Programs & Operations Levy

The EP&O levy provides 14% of the school district’s overall budget, including school staff, student opportunities, and early learning.

Votes yes: 56.28 percent

Votes no: 43.72 percent

Replacement of Existing School Technology and Capital Projects Levy

The purpose of this levy is to fund technology for all students, staff and classrooms, in addition to updating technology systems to support schools, and building updates to maintain investments in schools.

Votes yes: 57.14 percent

Votes no: 42.86 percent

Building Excellence Construction Levy

The Building Excellence Construction Levy would assist with construction costs and allow for further growth within the district.

Votes yes: 54.24 percent

Votes no: 45.76 percent
