Kirkland woman may have robbed other elderly victims in Bothell as well

The Bothell Police Department conducted an investigation involving a woman believed to have conned her way into the homes of elderly victims in order to steal from them and are concerned there may be additional unreported cases.

The Bothell Police Department conducted an investigation involving a woman believed to have conned her way into the homes of elderly victims in order to steal from them and are concerned there may be additional unreported cases.

On Sept. 13, a 50-year old Kirkland woman contacted the resident of a mobile homeposted for sale, located in the City of Bothell. The woman convinced the resident she was aninterested buyer and asked to view the interior. Once inside the residence, the suspect distracted theresident and stole several items before leaving.

Bothell Police detectives investigated the case and determined that the woman has a history ofsimilar cases in other jurisdictions and may be a suspect in additional cases in the City of Bothell as well. Items frequently stolen include cash, jewelry and medications.

Occasionally, the woman was accompanied by a second suspect, described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 40 and 60.

The woman is currently in custody at the King County Jail on second degree theft charges and for unrelated Department of Corrections probation violations.

Detectives believe there may be additional homeowners who were approached by this woman and may have had items stolen from them.
