King County officials will hold an open house and town hall meeting from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on June 19 at Bellevue City Hall with elected leaders, including Kenmore Mayor David Baker and King County Councilman Rod Dembowski, to learn more about our critical infrastructure needs for roads, bridges and transit service.
The meeting is co-hosted by the Sound Cities Association, the city of Bellevue and King County, which are seeking sustainable transportation funding options.
“King County expects to close 35 bridges in the next 25 years and reduce yearly storm response due to revenues that continue to decline,” said Harold Taniguchi, director of the King County Department of Transportation. “Please attend this meeting to add your voice and story to this important debate that will determine the future of transportation in our region.”
Speakers and panelists will also include Bellevue Mayor Conrad Lee, Auburn Mayor Pete Lewis, Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride, Mercer Island Mayor Bruce Bassett, Sammamish Councilmember Don Gerend, County Councilmember Jane Hague and Deputy King County Executive Fred Jarrett.
Bellevue City Hall is located at 450 110th Ave. N.E. in Bellevue.
