Kenmore releases 2015 crime stats

In 2015, the city spent $3,361,477 on police services. There were a total of 667 adult and juvenile charges and arrests last year, up from 552 in 2014.

The average response time to the most serious crimes fell to 2.48 minutes in 2015, down from 2.65 the previous year.

In general, serious crimes rose in 2015 while less serious crimes saw a decline.

Overall, there were 16 “part one” crimes per 1,000 residents in 2015, including serious and violent felonies such as rape, robbery and aggravated assault, up from 15 crimes per 1,000 residents the year before.

“Part two” crimes, including non-serious felonies and misdemeanors fell slightly, but still remained at 29 cases per 1,000 residents.

There were also nine non-statutory rapes last year, up from four in 2014.

There were six arsons last year and none in 2014.

Larceny cases rose to 202 last year, up from 182 the year before and there were 56 DUIs, up from 52 in 2014.

There were 87 domestic violence cases in 2015, up from 72 in 2014 and thefts from vehicles rose to 85 from 69 in 2014.

Aggravated assaults declined dramatically, with only two cases in 2015, down from 11 the previous year and burglaries remained the same at 92 cases for both years. Vehicle thefts also held steady at 33 cases.

Traffic collisions fell slightly to 212 in 2015 and citizen traffic complaints fell to 83, down from 110 in 2014.
