Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) has selected Kenmore Junior High School music and band teacher Debbie Montague to be inducted into the 2014 WMEA Hall of Fame.
One of 10 inductees, Montague will be recognized at the WMEA biennial meeting to be held Feb. 14-16, in Yakima, Wash.
“Debbie Montague has enriched the lives of countless students through music,” said Ted Christensen, district elementary music coordinator and high school music instructor. “She has developed and maintained a high quality program for many, many years. Debbie’s induction into the WMEA Hall of Fame exemplifies the purpose of this award. Northshore is fortunate to have her as a music teacher in our district.”
The Washington Music Educators Hall of Fame was established by WMEA Board of Directors to give recognition for exceptional support, inspiration and outstanding growth and development of music education, both public and private, in the state of Washington.
