Kenmore community invited to an open house workshop May 13

Kenmore community members are invited to participate in an open house workshop on Kenmore’s update of the transportation part of the city’s comprehensive plan.

Kenmore community members are invited to participate in an open house workshop on Kenmore’s update of the transportation part of the city’s comprehensive plan.

The comprehensive plan is a policy document detailing the community’s vision of future land use and growth for the city and its neighborhoods.

The workshop will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 13 in Kenmore’s City Hall, located at 18120 68th Ave. NE.  A presentation will be given at 7 p.m. At the workshop, city staff and the consultant team will share some background about the comprehensive plan’s transportation element, as well as ways to accommodate walking, biking, riding transit and driving in the future.

City staff will be available to questions, comments and input on whether they have identified the right facilities to accommodate each of these modes and how their plan can best serve future travel needs in Kenmore. The planning commission is currently working on updating the transportation element and will be developing a recommendation to present to the city council later in the fall.
