The Kenmore City Council, in collaboration with Feet First, will celebrate “WALKTOBER” by inviting Kenmore residents for a conversation and a walk twice during October. The walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 3 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 15 at the Starbucks at 7750 NE Bothell Way.
Citizens are encouraged to attend these informal sessions to ask questions, discuss issues and offer suggestions on any topic of interest.
Feet First is a local nonprofit working to ensure all communities in Washington are walkable. WALKTOBER is a month-long campaign designed to inspire everyone to make walking a priority — in October and beyond.
Feet First invites residents to participate in the WALKTOBER challenge. The goal for the organization this year is to chart 132 million steps — that’s 25,000 miles— the distance it takes to circumnavigate the earth.
By hosting this Kenmore City Council conversation as a walking session, Kenmore officials say they are taking steps towards promoting a healthier lifestyle for residents, and helping Feet First achieve their goal.
Coffee with Council is typically held on the first Monday at 7:30 a.m. and third Saturday at 8 a.m. of each month.
