Kenmore Air announced today it will put tickets on sale for just $89 each way between Seattle and one island in the San Juan Islands as a part of their Facebook promotion where fans vote for their favorite island.
“This is a great way to thank to our loyal customers. It offers them up to 35% off on travel between Seattle and the island with the most votes”, said Todd Banks, president of Kenmore Air. “It’s also a wonderful way for others to experience getting to or from one of the most beautiful Northwest destinations in just 45 minutes.”
From July 16–August 2, Kenmore Air Facebook fans will be able to vote for the island in the San Juans they want to go on sale for $89: Lopez Island, San Juan Island or last year’s winner, Orcas Island. Fans can vote once a day, every day.
The island with the most votes will be announced on Kenmore Air’s Facebook page Aug. 4. The $89 tickets will be available for purchase over a four-day period, August 6, 7, 8 and 9, for travel on Kenmore Air’s daily scheduled seaplane or wheeled-aircraft service between Seattle/Lake Union, Kenmore/Lake Washington, Seattle/Boeing Field or Sea-Tac Airport and the winning island. Travel must occur September 22–November 25, 2014, December 3–18, 2014, or January 3–March 31, 2015, inclusive.
“We encourage all businesses in the San Juans to let their own Facebook fans know about this contest so they can help increase the votes for their island,” Todd said.“Last year it was really exciting. There were over 2,000 votes, and it was a horse race right to the last day, with Orcas just squeaking by with a 76-vote lead. Needless to say, visitor traffic to Orcas Island increased significantly. And just as importantly, last year residents of Orcas Island were able to save big on their travels to Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport.
The contest will be live at 8 a.m., July 16 at www.a.pgtb.me/tXZtwB.
Kenmore Air serves over 45 Northwest destinations, including eight locations in the San Juan Islands, Victoria, BC, the Olympic Peninsula (Port Angeles) and BC’s Inside passage (Gulf Islands, Sunshine Coast, Desolation Sound, Nanaimo and the Northern Inside Passage).
