The Issaquah Chamber of Commerce is set to host the 53rd annual Salmon Days festival in celebration of the thousands of salmon that return to spawn in Issaquah Creek.
The festivities will begin on Saturday, Oct. 1 when this year’s parade kicks-off at 10 a.m. from the Issaquah Community Center. There will also be live musical performances at the community center all day on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2.
Visitors are encouraged to visit the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery during the festival and the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah will host their famous Salmon BBQ at Gibson Hall. There will also be beer gardens for community members to enjoy domestic and craft beers, as well as ciders & wine.
This year the festival reported over 50 food vendors representing foods from around the world and 300 juried arts and crafts vendors, as well as another 65 non-profit vendors.
On both Saturday and Sunday dogs will compete in the Puget Sound Dockdogs jumping competition.
There will also be several arts and crafts opportunities such as a sidewalk chalk competition for visitors to enjoy.
