An icy road and speeding vehicles may have been the cause of five separate collisions on State Route 522 between 88th Avenue Northeast and 91st Avenue Northeast Dec. 14, according to Washington State Patrol officer Dan McDonald and KOMO Radio AM 1000 news reports.
Washington State Patrol, fire and medical personnel were on the scene at about 7 a.m.
According to McDonald, one vehicle skidded and hit a parked truck in a dirt lot, causing a minor injury to the driver; one collided into a utility pole; one careened over an embankment; and another struck a shop. The fifth accident was minor and no other injuries were reported.
A Washington State Department of Transportation press release noted that the right lane was blocked and was cleared at about 7:37 a.m.
