Cascadia Community College is now enrolling students for a grant-funded two-quarter Energy Audit Specialist Certificate program that will begin Sept. 27.
Funding is provided by a grant received by the Washington Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board, in partnership with, among others, Workforce Development Council Snohomish County.
“This is a great way for WorkSource customers to boost their skills in a high-demand industry while the economy is slow,” explains Workforce Development Council Snohomish County CEO Sue Ambler. “Jobs in the energy efficiency sector are already booming, and this certificate may be the training it takes for some of our customers to start their 21st-century career path.”
The Energy Audit Specialist certificate will prepare students to enter the rapidly growing field of residential, multi-family and commercial energy auditing. The program is intended for dislocated workers who are willing to commit to a full-time training program and engage in immediate job-search activities with WorkSource staff after completing the program. Eligible participants will have their tuition and fees covered by the grant; they will also receive support and assistance from WorkSource Snohomish County Employment Specialists.
