Fourth of July events in Northshore

The Northshore area will have many activities for residents to enjoy for the Fourth of July this year, including a parade, pancake breakfast and, of course, fireworks.

The city of Bothell will hold its annual Independence Day Freedom Festival with the theme “Honor the Past, Imagine the Future.” The festivities will begin with a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the downtown firehouse, located at 10726 Beardslee Blvd.

The city will then present the annual Fourth of July parade, beginning with the children’s parade at 11:15 a.m. and then the grand parade at noon.

The parades begin at Main Street and 104th Avenue Northeast, proceeds west to the Bothell-Everett Highway, where it will turn north, and then ends at the Pop Keeney Stadium parking lot.

Due to construction on the Multiway Boulevard on Bothell Way, seating for the annual festival will be limited to the east side of the roadway for several blocks. There will be no seating permitted on the west side of Bothell Way from Northeast 185th Street to Reder Way.

Spectators will be allowed to set up chairs for the parade on Main Street in front of the Mercantile Building the morning of July 1.

Fireworks

The annual Kenmore Fireworks Show, presented by Frank Lumber, will take place at Log Boom Park on the Kenmore water front at 10 p.m. on July 4 and is free to the public.

Food vendors and activities organized by the city of Kenmore will also take place at Log Boom Park, located at 17415 61st Ave. NE, starting at 8 p.m. According to city officials the featured vendors include: Spot Hot Dogs and Brats, Cat House Pizza, Chillz, Uncle Stinky’s Magic – Light up and wearable products and toys.

Event parking is available at the following locations:

• Street parking along NE 175th Street

• Uplake Professional Center, 5723 NE Bothell Way

• Church of the Redeemer, 6211 NE 182nd Street

• The Vine Church, 6214 NE Bothell Way (limited)

Personal fireworks are illegal within the city limits of Kenmore but are legal in Bothell.

Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) encourage all pet owners to keep pets indoors on July 4 and make sure that they have identification. If a pet is lost, RASKC encourages owners to check local shelters.
