Today at 2:20 p.m., crews from the City of Bothell Fire and E.M.S., Northshore Fire Department and Shoreline Fire Department responded to a call for a surface water rescue in North Creek near the 2000 block of 224th Street Southeast.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a 26-year-old man and his dog stuck in the creek.  The man and his wife were walking their dogs on the trail and their dogs entered the creek and one of them couldn’t get out.  The man went into the creek after his dogs and became trapped, as well.

Firefighters entered the water using safety floatation devices and rescued the man and his dog.  The man was transported to Evergreen Hospital with injuries related to prolonged exposure to cold water.

The City of Bothell Fire and E.M.S. strongly urges everyone to be cautious around water.  Heavy rainfall causes rivers to fill quickly, and swift-moving water is extremely dangerous.  The department asks residents to stay out of the water.
