Elementary school students to participate in hands-on science classes

Arrowhead and Hollywood Hill elementary students are set to get hands-on with science through a free six-week, after-school science class sponsored by the Washington Alliance for Better Schools and The Boeing Company. Classes will be held on Tuesdays, Feb. 8 through March 22. There is no class Feb. 22.

The classes are designed to foster interest in science and reinforce science concepts. The curriculum incorporates hands-on inquiry and activity-based learning. Boeing engineers will facilitate the classes and each school will provide a certificated staff member to assist in each classroom. Arrowhead will host one class for fourth- and fifth-graders and one class for sixth-graders. Hollywood Hill will host two classes for fourth- and fifth-graders.
