The city of Kenmore annually contracts with street paving companies to overlay and improve city streets. This Saturday, the contractor, Watson Company, will be paving 68th Avenue Northeast between the north bridge deck and Northeast 175th Street, and then continue on Northeast 175th Street between 68th Avenue Northeast and 65th Avenue Northeast.

Paving will begin at 8 a.m. and should be completed by 4:30 p.m. The area on 68th Avenue Northeast between the north bridge deck and Northeast 175th Street should be completed by 1 p.m.

The contractor will continue work on Northeast 175th Street to the west between 68th Avenue Northeast and 65th Avenue Northeast, which should be completed by 4:30 p.m.

One lane of traffic should be open at all times and traffic controls will be in place. A digital reader board will be installed today in both directions to inform the public of the Saturday work.

This work is being completed on Saturday in order to accommodate the heavy commuter traffic on 68th Avenue Northeast Monday through Friday.
