A Bothell police spokesperson said officials are waiting for a medical examiner’s report to determine what led to the discovery of a body inside a camper at the Canyon Mobile Park on Feb. 22.

The name of the deceased has not been released as Bothell Police Capt. Denise Langford said the person has not been positively identified. The body may or may not be that of the camper’s tenant. Langford declined to speculate on a cause of death, but did state police don’t believe there was any sign of foul play.

According to Langford, the manager of the mobile home park on 31st Avenue Southeast had not received rent from the camper’s tenant for a few months. A late notice was posted on the camper door, but did not elicit a response.

Again according to Langford, the park owner finally decided to enter the camper and found the deceased inside. Langford said it is unclear how long the body had been inside the camper, but said it was in an advanced state of decomposition.

“It was apparent that the body had been there for some time,” she said.

Langford did not state when a coroner’s report might be available.
