• Cole Cramer of Bothell and Daniel Soloff of Woodinville have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts.

As members of Troop 422 of the Northlakes District in Woodinville, this accomplishment represents many years of work, fun and dedication to the Boy Scout program.

Cramer’s Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project involved installing road signs along the Sammamish River Trail for the King County Park Department with the help of various family, friends and members of Troop 422.

Their Eagle Scout Court of Honor will be held July 27. They both will be attending Western Washington University in the fall.

• Kendra Moore of Kenmore, a 2009 Inglemoor High graduate, is the recipient of a $1,000 Prevail Credit Union Education Exchange College Grant.

Moore is one of only 35 students nationwide to receive an Education Exchange College Grant.

Moore plans to attend the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana.

• Brenden Wong of Kenmore, a boy scout from Troop 610, is spending his time this summer on his Eagle project, leading a campaign to collect thousands of Crayola crayons for patients at the Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Wong is mobilizing his troop to canvas their neighborhoods, soliciting donations at his local WalMart store and asking his church members to contribute.

Dentist Philip Etheredge and orthodontist Bryan Roos have already contributed.

• Melissa McFarland-Sander of Bothell has been awarded $2,500 through the trustees fund for the 2009-10 academic year at Eastern Washington University. The award is given to a student who maintains a 3.8-plus grade-point average and is a continuing EWU student.

She currently attends EWU where she is studying nursing. At Eastern, she is also involved in choir.
