The Comcast Foundation today announced June 3 that Bothell residents Heidi Dauenhauer and Kelly Hoang, along with Inglemoor senior Chandler Olsen are among the 2014-15 recipients of its annual Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program awards. There are 90 recipients statewide.

“This year’s scholarship winners demonstrate exemplary commitment to leadership in both their classrooms and community,” said Len Rozek, senior vice president of Comcast in Washington. “We are proud to recognize their achievements, and are excited to support them as they continue their educational journeys.”

Dauenhauer, who attends Lynnwood High School, worked with middle schoolers at soccer camp, volunteered at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center and has a variety of academic and soccer awards including “Most Inspirational” for JV soccer and the AP Scholar Award.

Hoang, who attends Henry M. Jackson High School, was a volunteer volleyball coach for the Alderwood Boys & Girls Club and has a United Way of Snohomish County Varsity Letter in Community Service. Her activities include the Mill Creek Youth Advisory Board and the food bank.

Olsen’s activities include student body president and a variety of sports leadership roles and academic awards. He was a cofounder of the new IHS Spirit Club and has been involved with numerous groups ranging from the Washington Lacrosse Officials Association and YMCA to the Future Business Leaders of America.

The students who can attend will be honored June 5 at a ceremony at the Washington State Governor’s Mansion in Olympia.
