City of Bothell receives award for financial excellence 13 consecutive years

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the city of Bothell by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for the city’s 2012 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the city of Bothell by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for the city’s 2012 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). This marks the 13th consecutive year the city has earned a Certificate of Achievement, which signifies the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the city.

“Once again, the city of Bothell is proud to receive such an honorable award,” said Bothell City Manager Bob Stowe. “I thank the City’s Finance Department staff for working so diligently to make this achievement possible.”

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a construction “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate it financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals.
