The city of Bothell invites citizens to an informational meeting regarding the clean up and redevelopment of the Bothell Landing Commercial Center site related to the Bothell Crossroads SR 522 Realignment project. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Northshore Senior Center rooms 103/104 (10201 E. Riverside Drive, Bothell).
The meeting will include a project presentation and will provide community members the opportunity to provide input and discuss the project with consultants and city officials. Beginning Oct. 27, citizens can also review the draft grant proposal at www.ci.bothell.wa.us or at Bothell City Hall (18305 101st Ave. N.E.) and Bothell Regional Library (18215 98th Ave. N.E.). The city will accept comments on the draft grant proposal via e-mail at downtownplan@ci.bothell.wa.us through 5 p.m. Nov. 7.
The city is seeking $200,000 in Environmental Protection Agency grants to assist in the environmental cleanup of the 2.8-acre site. Site soils and ground water are impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons and solvents from historic land-use practices at and surrounding the site. Clean up of the site will be coordinated with roadway construction and clean up of other nearby properties, and will reduce environmental hazards while allowing construction and redevelopment to occur. This project will help reduce impacts to ground-water and surface-water resources, including the Sammamish River.
