Cedar Park Christian coach Julie Nelson has taken her Eagles to the state volleyball tournament the last six years and said each trip is equally exciting — because she never knows what will happen.

Junior setter Lyndsay Palmer noted that it’s quite an accomplishment for Nelson to coach her girls to state.

On Saturday night, Cedar Park snagged third place with a 3-0 win over Lynden Christian (25-16, 25-21, 25-12) at the 1A tourney at the Yakima SunDome.

Earlier in the day, King’s defeated Cedar Park, 3-0, in the semifinals.

To make the semis, the Eagles (21-2) beat LaSalle on Friday, 3-1 (19-25, 25-15, 34-32, 25-19).
