On the agenda for the Kenmore City Council study session on Monday, Sept. 17 will be review and discussion of the six-year (2013-2018) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for parks, transportation and surface water projects, which includes City Staff’s funding strategy to raise the $34,438,550 required for the projects.

The CIP includes 14 parks projects totaling $5,260,000, 10 transportation projects totaling $26,789,200, and 12 surface water projects totaling $2,389,350.

Among the parks discussions will be the development of a signature downtown public park/square related to the Kenmore Village action plan, as well as improvements at Moorlands Park, Rhododendron Park and Log Boom Park.

Transportation projects will include the completion of the completion of the 181st/68th Avenue signal, the annual Sidewalk Program, the 2013 Juanita Overlay, the Wayfinding/Banner project, City Gateways, addition of a right turn pocket at Inglemoor High, and the 68th Avenue queue jump between the Sammamish Bridge and Highway 522, as well as improvements to the west segment of Highway 522.

The study session will be held at Kenmore City Hall, located at 18120 68th Avenue Northeast, a 7 p.m. Monday.

A regular City Council meeting is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. the following Monday, Sept. 24, with a Town Meeting just prior from 6:30-7:20 p.m.
