The Northshore Senior Center and the League of Women Voters will host a forum at 1 p.m. Sept. 28 at the center for candidates involved in local elections.
According to center Director Gary Kingsbury, the following candidates are expected to appear:
• In Legislative District 1, for state representative, Position 1, Bothell candidate Derek Standford. Standford’s opponent Dennis Richter had not confirmed his appearance.
• In the Position 2 race, Luis Moscoso and Heidi Munson.
• In the Legislative District 32 state senate race, Kenmore Mayor David Baker and State Rep. Maralyn Chase, D-Shoreline.
• District 32 state representative candidates also should be in attendance. They are, for Position 1, Gary Gagliardi and State Rep. Ruth Kagi, D-Lake Forest Park. Position 2 features candidates Art Coday and Cindy Ryu.
• The Legislative District 44 races include a state senate battle between incumbent Steve Hobbs, D-Lake Stevens and challenger Dave Schmidt. State Rep. Hans Dunshee, D-Snohomish, also is expected.
Covering local issues, a second election forum is planned for 1 p.m. Oct. 5.
