The city of Kenmore will hold its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival from 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 6 at City Hall. The event is free for the community with many activities planned for all ages. The lighting of the tree will take place at 6:30 p.m. as the city welcomes Santa.
Some of the other events include: Free Santa photos courtesy of Kenmore Camera, Santa’s Workshop courtesy of Snapdoodle Toys, arts and craft activities courtesy of Kenmore Self Storage, holiday characters photo and autograph booth, music and dance entertainment and lots of holiday treats and sweets.
Donations of nonperishable food items will also be accepted to support the Hopelink food bank serving Northshore and Kirkland residents. The food drive is currently being held and will run through Dec. 6. Cash and food donations are gratefully accepted at the event and at Kenmore City Hall, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Returning this year is the community Christmas tree inside City Hall. Residents can donate an ornament and/or a small stuffed animal to decorate the tree. Ornaments can be homemade or purchased. City staff plans to reuse the ornaments and add new ones each year. Stuffed animals will be donated to local charities prior to Christmas. Contributions can be dropped off at Kenmore City Hall before or during the festival. For more information call 425-485-2974.
