CONCORDIA CHOIR

SET TO PLAY FEB. 23

The Concordia Choir from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., will present a concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 at Northsore Performing Arts Center, 18125 92nd Ave. N.E., Bothell. Dr. René Clausen conducts the 72-voice a-cappella choir in ethnic pieces ranging from Hawaiian to Russian and several spirituals and hymns. In a wide-reaching quest to reconcile various musical styles, Clausen has selected a diverse program for the 2009 tour for what will be one of the most ambitious tour programs The Concordia Choir has ever performed.

Touring nationally and internationally, the choir has performed in nearly every major hall in the United States.

EXCHANGE STUDENTS COMING TO NORTHSHORE

Two Japanese high-school exchange groups will be coming to the Bothell-Kenmore area in March. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the weekdays, these students will be attending English classes at sites in the community and going on field trips in the Seattle area. One group will be arriving March 13 and departing April 2 with the other arriving March 21 and departing April 2.

Couples, with or without children in the home, are needed to host. Single-parent families will be considered to host as long as they are the same sex as the visiting student and currently have a child living in their home. The students come with their own spending money. For information, call Darlene Aaby at (425) 483-1201.
