Last May 19, Bothell resident Kelly Clark sang her praises of those around her by creating a national holiday: Thank You Day.
“Since the healing process for me is taking so dang long, I decided to do something that I could DO now,” said Clark, who recovered from life-threatening injuries during a May 19, 2008, auto accident.
Today, she sent the Reporter a Thank You Day video.
“Being an event planner at heart, I’ve decided to create a national holiday: Thank You Day. Bothell, Washington, will be able to say it started here,” she said.
Clark had folks in California, New York, Florida and Washington planning activities. In Bothell, she placed thank-you signs in yards in her neighborhood and delivered cards to fire departments and emergency rooms.
“I’m hoping it makes every police officer, firefighter, EMT and anyone that works in an emergency room, feel honored and thanked for all that they do to protect us and save our lives,” she said.
