Bothell Police Department helps out with Drive Hammered, Get Nailed enforcement campaign

In King County, 876 motorists were stopped and arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), and statewide, law-enforcement officers arrested 3,577 drivers for DUI.

In King County, Bothell Police was among 25 departments, along with the Washington State Patrol, which participated in the extra emphasis patrols, with the support of the King Country Target Zero Traffic Safety Task Forces. The extra patrols were funded by a grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.

During 2009, impaired drivers killed more than half of the 491 people who died on Washington’s roadways. The 264 impaired driver-involved deaths last year represent a decrease of nine fatalities compared to the previous five-year average.
