Army 2nd Lt. Joseph P. Deluca has graduated from the Army Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
The training is designed to ensure a tough, standardized, small-unit leadership experience for officers. The primary mission of the course is to develop and produce adaptive officers with increased maturity, confidence and competence that share a common bond with their combined arms peers and are prepared to lead small units upon arrival at their first assignment.
Deluca is the son of Brad and Julie Deluca of 226th Street Southeast, Bothell, Wash. His wife, Berniece, is the daughter of Nora Corpuz of Hopena Street, Lihue, Hawaii.
He is a 2001 graduate of Bothell High School, Wash. He earned an associate degree in 2006 from Bellevue College, Wash. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2011 from Western Oregon University, Monmouth, Ore.
