Bothell Cougar care package received by Inglemooor Viking on USS Carl Vinson

Bothell’s Leadership Class sent Any Soldier packages to service men and women serving in the Gulf, and lo and behold, one care package was delivered to an Inglemoor Viking.

“My department received the care package today during an underway replenishment at sea,” said Trevor Gazes, QM2, USN. “I noticed the big blue B and a little grey cougar and immediately I had an idea what it was. I went to Inglemoor and I will always be able to recognize the Bothell Cougar logo. What a coincidence, I bet you never thought that your care package going out was going to get delivered to a Viking.”

Aircraft carrier US Carl Vinson (CNV-70) was deployed to the Persian Gulf last August and anticipates returning to San Diego in June 2015. On ship with Gazes is Bothell alum Aaron Meriwether.  Both men are members of their high school’s Class of 2006.

The Any Soldier package of toilet paper, toothbrushes, socks, lotion and goodies like Pringles and granola bars was divided among Gazes’ shipmates. “These items have a very practical use and go a long way at sea. We really appreciate your thoughts and the package, everything counts,” said Gazes. “What a small world. Go Vikings and Seahawks. Thanks again.”
