Bothell resident and mystery writer Ann Charles will be one of the the featured authors at the South Dakota Festival of Books, being held Sept. 28-30 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Charles will be presenting two workshops, “Will Kill for Fiction: Murder & Mystery 101” and “Writing & Selling Your Genre Stories” to festivalgoers on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Charles writes mysteries full of mayhem, humor, and a splash of romance. Ann has a B.A. in English with an emphasis on creative writing from the University of Washington. A winner of the prestigious Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense, she has been a longtime member of Sisters in Crime and Romance Writers of America. Ann has written several contemporary novels and series, and she is currently toiling away on her next book.

She has written several contemporary, award-winning novels, including a couple of different series. Her work includes “Nearly Departed in Deadwood, “Optical Delusions in Deadwood,” “Dead Case in Deadwood,” “Dance of the Winnebagos” and “Jackrabbit Junction Jitters.”
