Bothell and Inglemoor student photographic art chosen for state traveling exhibit

Eight Bothell and Inglemoor high-school student photographic art pieces placed in the top three of their respective categories and will go on a one-year tour of the state, including exhibits at the Tacoma Art Museum in September and the Seattle Art Museum in December. Bothell High’s team placed second out of 87 schools and Inglemoor’s team placed sixth.

More than 4,290 entries by 1,831 high-school students were submitted under the black-and-white categories of people, landscape/seascape/cityscape and things; open categories for black-and-white, color and digital images of abstract, animal, documentary/photo essay, still life, portrait, architecture and manipulation/alternative process; and exclusively color and digital categories of landscape/cityscape, people and color.

Judges will reveal the Best in Show award from among all first-place winners at the 2012 opening-night exhibit from 7-9 p.m. June 7 at Museum Quality Framing, 428 Westlake Ave. N. in Seattle. In addition, the Photographic Center Northwest (PCNW) Choice award, Jones Soda Label prizes and the Seattle Sounders “Experience Photography” award will be announced.
