Bothell Planning Commission member Steve Booth leads a close race with former city council member Tris Samberg by 166 votes for council position 5.
With nearly 5,000 votes cast in King and Snohomish Counties, Booth has 46.71 percent of the vote (2,248) to Samberg’s 43.26 percent (2,082).
Nadia Mustafa, the third candidate in the primary race has 10.04 percent or 483 votes.
The top two candidates will advance to the general election in November.
Position 5 is currently held by Patrick Ewing, who decided not to run for re-election.
The election will be certified on Aug. 20.
