BECU, Washington State’s largest credit union and MainStreet Property Group LLC, a developer for Six Oaks Apartments & Retail, announced today plans for BECU to open a new Neighborhood Financial Center (NFC) at the base of their new mixed-use apartment building located in Bothell.
On Oct. 4 at 1 p.m., BECU will close the NFC located within the QFC in Canyon Park and relocate to the new location at the corner of NE 183rd St. and Bothell Way NE which will be open to the public at 9 a.m. on Oct. 6.
At approximately 2,800 square foot the new location will have 5 consultant desks and 2 ATM’s with 24 hour access as well as a new lobby management system where members can make appointments on-line in advance. Members can use the location to establish accounts, apply for loans and perform financial transactions — including free ATM, online and telephone banking services, with staff assistance, if needed. In addition, members can make an appointment with experts who can help with everything from retirement and estate planning, buying or refinancing a home, or growing their business with BECU Business Services.
“Our move to the new location is in response to the growing needs of our members in the area,” said Brian Mills, BECU’s Manager of the Canyon Park location. “With over 30,000 members in the area, our current location inside of the Canyon Park QFC grocery store does not afford us the room to meet the needs of our membership. As anyone in the state is eligible to join BECU, this new location will allow us to continue to grow within the Bothell community while ensuring that we are able to meet the needs of our current members.”
As with BECU’s other Neighborhood Financial Centers, the new Bothell location will be staffed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“I am very excited about the development work being completed by MainStreet Property Group in our City,” said Bothell City Manager, Bob Stowe. “BECU is a great addition to the development of Six Oaks and to businesses in our newly revitalized downtown. I congratulate BECU on their upcoming Neighborhood Financial Center in downtown Bothell.”
The new Neighborhood Financial Center will be located at the corner of NE 183rd St. and Bothell Way NE, within walking distance to many other businesses and restaurants as part of a new revitalized Downtown Bothell. BECU will join another retail tenant at Six Oaks, the Amaro Bistro, a Mediterranean/Italian restaurant opening in September as well.
“I am pleased to welcome BECU to the 50-yard line in Downtown Bothell at Six Oaks,” said Kelly Price, president of MainStreet Property Group. “Having been a member of BECU for many years, I am pleased that their branch will be able to serve the residents of Six Oaks and the Bothell community. This is another exciting step for the city of Bothell and we look forward to the grand opening of BECU.”
