With the weather warming up this weekend, it will begin to feel like the “dog days” of summer. Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) is celebrating by reducing the adoption fee for adult dogs to just $50 for a limited time.
“Now is a great time to visit the Pet Adoption Center to pick out a pooch,” said RASKC manager Dr. Gene Mueller. “We’re competing with animal shelters around the nation in the ASPCA/Rachael Ray $100K Challenge to save more lives. Since the Challenge started on June 1, we’ve adopted more than 170 pets into new homes, and we’d like to close out the first month on a high note.”
Also during the $100K Challenge, which runs through August 31, adoption fees on adult cats are waived. All cats and dogs adopted from RASKC come spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and have received a veterinary health exam.
The King County Pet Adoption Center is located at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. Hours are 3-6 p.m. Monday, noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends.
