Winners announced for Youth Art Exhibit at Kenmore City Hall

The Arts of Kenmore Gallery at City Hall celebrated the opening of the Youth Art Exhibit on Nov. 22, featuring artwork by 25 artists age five through 18. The exhibit will run through Jan. 31.

The Arts of Kenmore Gallery at City Hall celebrated the opening of the Youth Art Exhibit on Nov. 22, featuring artwork by 25 artists age five through 18. The exhibit will run through Jan. 31. The opening reception included welcoming remarks by Mayor David Baker followed by AOK President David Maehren’s presentation of certificates and awards to the artists. A drawing for gift certificates from Snap Doodle Toys and Ostrom Drugs made four winners very happy. The free art class presented by Art Archive was enjoyed by almost 40 attendees. Sixty artworks were submitted for the show but only 25 artists were chosen.

The featured artists include: Jon Baker, Melanie Breteau, Sedona Bryce, Samantha Carey, Debbie Clauson, Trevor Dunnigan, Zhanpei Fang, Amelia Fenne, Kina Fernandes, Jessica Forcucci, Natalie Forcucci, Cassi Freeman, Tristan Gallagher, Shaylen Haller, Daria Herbig, Sonya Leaf, Shawn Lee, Tobey Lu, Elena Martinez, Peter Pan, Maisie Patterson, Samay Sayala, Aidan Toomre, KellynToomre and Jacqueline Wong.

Here are the winners in specific categories:

5- to 8-year-old category

First place: Samay Sayala for Boats

Second place: Daria Herbig for In the Sea

Third place: Kina Fernandes for Fence and Natalie Forcucci for Pipsqueak

9- to 12-year-old category

First place: Aidan Toomre for Island Tower

Second place: Elena I. Martinez for An Ocean Rising

Third place: Kellyn Toomre for Sumi

13- to 19-year-old category

First place: Tobey Lu for Portrait of Man

Second place: Cassi Freeman for Luck

Third place: Zhanpei Fang for Lustre

The Arts of Kenmore has partnered with the City of Kenmore to produce four to five art exhibits per year at no cost to the city. AOK is a non-profit organization whose goal is to encourage and promote both passive and active participation in all forms of the arts by the citizens of the area for the enrichment of the community. Every year, AOK produces the Kenmore Art Show which features artwork by hundreds of local artists. AOK’s revenue provides art support and education grants to local schools.
