Chilifest is scheduled to ignite appetites and mouthes alike Oct. 8 for the ninth year in a row at the Washelli Funeral Home in Bothell.
The contest pits chili cooks against one another, vying for various judge- and crowd-selected awards, all while raising money for Hopelink, a local food bank.
Chefs will cook up two quarts of chili each, and attendees can vote for their favorite chili by donating one dollar or bringing a nonperishable food item.
Chili Chef participation fees are $25 with small chili cups and spoons provided.
Chilifest will be held at the Washelli Funeral Home at 18224 103rd Avenue Northeast between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
