Pacific Sound Chorus is holding an open house for women of all ages who like to sing on Oct. 24 from 6:45 – 9:30 p.m. This event will be the first in an eight-week series of vocal education at no cost.
The Chorus meets on Tuesday evenings at the First Methodist Church at 1934 108th in Bellevue. The ongoing sessions will be preceded by a “Quartet Wanna Be” party held from noon until 4 p.m. on Oct. 21st at the Fairwood Library, 17009 140th Ave. S.E. in Renton. The party is also at no cost and each event is independent of the other.
All who attend the open house will be given two complimentary tickets to the chorus annual holiday show to be held on Dec. 16 at Lake Washington High School. Those continuing to participate in the group lessons will be invited to sing with the chorus at their holiday performance. All will share the stage with featured guest artists, “Straighter Road”, the 20215 National Harmony Sweepstakes Winner.
Musical knowledge is not necessary to participate in these workshops. Any woman of average singing ability will find a part that fits her voice range with the help of musical leaders. Current Kirkland residents in the choir are: Carol Drew, Gayle Robinson and Megan Talbot. Northshore residents are Danie Stiles, Diane Lee, Lael Comacho and Pam Kilby. Other members come from around the Eastside, including Bothell and Kenmore.
