With the help of theater company Studio East, 35 Kenmore Junior High students performed the musical “Once Upon a Mattress” April 30 and May 1 at Kenmore Elementary.

Leading roles included Evan Nichols as Lady Winifred, Spencer Lane as Prince Dauntless, Rebecca Samuelson as Queen Aggravian, Anna Radovich as Lady Larkin and Trevor Keegan as Sir Harry.

In preparation for the show, which included lots of singing and dance choreography, students spent six weeks rehearsing after school for three hours a day.

Teacher Whitney Adkins was the producer.

Based on this year’s success, plans are under way to offer this program again next year.
