The Inglemoor High School orchestra will perform its fall concert at the Bastyr University Chapel at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening.
The 63-member orchestra is under the direction of Jim Rice, Ted Christensen and student intern David Lucas from Central Washington University.
The concert is free to the public and will include compositions by composers such as Antonio Vivaldi and Thomas Avison, along with more contemporary compositions Adieu, by Todd Coleman, Transylvanian Tango by Zach Wallmark, and Caminos Argentinos by Jeffrey Manookian.
The orchestra has received numerous awards, having been recognized most recently as the outstanding orchestra of the Music in the Parks Festival in Couer d’Alene, Idaho and the Heritage International Music Festival in San Diego.
It consistently earns superior ratings at regional and state music festivals. In April, the Inglemoor orchestra will travel with the IHS Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble to compete in the Heritage International Music Festival in Washington D.C.
Donations are being accepted during the fall concert to offset expenses for the trip.
