BHS alumni and faculty talent on tap for Jan. 2 variety show

You can separate the high school from the graduate, but sometimes the graduate returns anyway. For Bothell High’s theater-arts department, this is a good thing.

Several talented alumni will showcase their dancing, singing and acting skills at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 2 at the Northshore Performing Arts Center during Bothell High’s 3rd Annual Alumni and Faculty Variety Show.

Over the years, producer/director Nancy Santiago has worked with many talented students when helping on various productions with theater-arts instructor James Wilson. She developed the variety show three years ago to reconnect with past students and as a way for alumni to benefit the theater-arts program. This year’s show will benefit the associated student body (ASB) fund, which helps fund Bothell High activities, including theater arts.

And, when she’s lucky, a few brave Bothell High faculty members show off their hidden talents, too. Last year, automotive-technology instructor Pat McCue gave a spirited performance of Adam Sandler’s “Lunch Lady.” This year, McCue and Wilson will be teaming up for a duet.

Parental guidance is recommended for this year’s production, as some material may not be suitable for young children. Tickets for the variety show go on sale one hour prior to show time in the lobby. Cost is $6 for students with ASB cards; $8 for adults.

The Northshore Performing Arts Center is located on the Bothell High campus at 9180 N.E. 180th St. For more information, visit www.bothelldrama.org.
