First, I would like to thank the citizens of Bothell for their support of our veterans at the Bothell 4th of July Parade. The people were just great, they stood, they saluted and thanked our veterans for their service.

I would like to thank Mayor Mark Lamb for allowing the Bothell American Legion to lead the parade for the first time in six years , as they had done the previous 75-plus years.

One of our members was back in the area last year and did not understand why we were not at the front of the parade — football players, politicians from other cities and other groups were first and our veterans farther back.

Last, a big thanks to the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter, you have printed most of our stories the past couple years and they have been accurate.
