Most of us have encountered many people collecting signatures for initiatives recently in our community. While it is not certain which ones will actually make it, there are likely to be many present on the upcoming ballot. With complex wording and the sheer number of initiatives, it can be overwhelming to figure out which initiatives to vote for and which ones to vote against. When sorting through the ballot, remember that essential health and education services are threatened by some initiatives in this election. One of these services is state funding for family planning, of which thousands of women in Washington depend on in order to avoid unwanted pregnancies. These services save the state money and also give women control over their own lives and their own reproductive health. With this in mind, I am voting no on I-1107 and yes on I-1098 if these initiatives do make it on the ballot.
