After reading several of the opinions following the Aug. 27 front-page story on Patty Murray, I can’t help but wonder if some of the readers just didn’t wake up on the right side of the bed before casting such negative opinions on this event.

Although I do not know Patty Murray personally, I have attended venues where she has been a speaker and she has always seemed to me to be genuinely proud of her roots. Congrats to the Reporter for the coverage on Bothell’s “native daughter” — well done.

Perhaps those who felt especially put off or ‘inconvenienced’ by the rally would prefer that Murray not draw any further attention to a struggling downtown business area. Get a grip, please.
