Kudos to the wonderful community of Kenmore!!! My faith is restored in the kindness of neighbors and “strangers.”
Our family’s recent lost-dog crisis gave me great hope and gratitude for our Kenmore community. I’ve always known there are nice people all around us, but I don’t think I fully realized how many kind and compassionate people we have living right here in our own Kenmore neighborhood. At nearly midnight on a Saturday night, neighbors and strangers went out of their way to help us find our old, deaf, Springer Spaniel … neighbors came out with flashlights and helped us search the neighborhood. Another neighbor out walking his dog told us he knew just where Trooper was … turns out he was only a few blocks from home … being surrounded by the kindness and concern of a young family (who coincidentally have a dog also named Trooper).
To be clear: it was around midnight and these neighbors were looking after our lost dog, trying to feed him and trying to figure out how best to reunite him with his family. Wow! It’s inspiring … we all want to do the right thing, but do we? Often doing the right thing is inconvenient. Thank you to the wonderful folks who went above and beyond. We are inspired and grateful … let’s all “pay it forward.”
