How about naming Swamp Creek ‘Meanderer’s Park’ to honor Native Americans?

In your May 19 issue, Karyl Gelatt urges us to vote for “Squire’s Landing” as the new name of Swamp Creek Park because “it is the only name suggested with historical significance.” This is not true, as I submitted “Meanderer’s Park” specifically to honor a group of Native Americans who inhabited the Kenmore area in the 19th century.

This is not true, as I submitted “Meanderer’s Park” specifically to honor a group of Native Americans who inhabited the Kenmore area in the 19th century.

It’s unfortunate there wasn’t more background information provided with the four choices listed.
