I disagree with another reader’s comments that “The Flag Lady” appears to be promoting flags of other countries over our own and that she should fly the U.S. flag above the others that she displays. I’m the proud daughter of a career Air Force father and married to a man who served on submarines in the U.S. Navy and I love this country. However, it never occurred to me that a U.S. flag should be outside Mrs. Minshull’s every day when I drive past. This is simply an educational display that piques interest and promotes learning. We know what our own flag looks like, but we don’t have much awareness of the flags of other countries. I look forward to seeing which flag will be out! And Mrs. Minshull does fly the U.S. flag on all our holidays.
