My name is Adam Brauch. My wife, Kirstin, and I have enjoyed raising our two children, Caden and Kennedy, here in Bothell for the past seven years. When we first moved to Bothell, it didn’t take long for us to realize how special our city is. I am proud of my involvement with the city, and I am seeking election to the City Council so that I can continue to be a strong, positive, independent voice for all citizens of Bothell.
Since I established residence in Bothell, I have advocated for our citizens. For example, I fought very hard for safety measures in my neighborhood such as connected sidewalks. I have reached out and connected with numerous families and neighbors to get involved and become informed. I formed Friends of East Riverside Drive to find ways to give back to the community and to keep our neighborhood clean and safe. In addition, I enjoyed participating in the process of creating a master plan for The Park at Bothell Landing when Kirstin was the chair of the Park and Recreation Board. We made sure the public, the people of Bothell, had a strong voice when the plan was presented to the City Council. Currently, I am forming a connected group of neighbors who share the shoreline on the Sammamish River. The river is an important part of our history and community, and together, we need to keep the river clean and safe for all to enjoy.
Both Kirstin and I are educators, working for the Mukilteo School District. We earned our master’s degrees in teaching from Seattle University and graduated together. I have worked with students of all ages during my 14 years with the district. Currently, I am a high-school guidance counselor and Kirstin teaches high-school biology. We are both strong believers in public education, providing service to others and often put in extra hours for the good of our prospective schools.
My campaign for City Council is going to be simple and straightforward. As a resident, I have made personal connections with people about common issues and that is my philosophy for my campaign. I will be out in the public to introduce myself with hand-delivered literature and to hear your ideas. I am optimistic for our future, and confident that together, we will keep Bothell strong. Thank you.
