Bothell’s Evergreen Washelli announced the arrival of Kevin Smith as the new manager for the funeral home.
Smith owned and operated a historic funeral home in Altoona, Penn. with his wife Cheryl. Earlier this year they moved to the Seattle area to be close to their son, daughter-in-law and now-18 month granddaughter. He joined Evergreen Washelli in October.
“I love it here in Bothell. It’s great to be part of such a friendly and active community,” says Kevin. “Our downtown Bothell facility – which annually hosts the likes of Chilifest with the Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) and co-hosts the Hot Rods, Hot Dogs and Motorcycles car show with the First Lutheran Church – is looking to be even more active as a life celebration and event center.” Dale Amundsen, past chamber chair and Evergreen Washelli community relations coordinator, welcomes Smith to this new position.
“I am delighted that we have Kevin at the funeral home. It’s already fun working with him as we shape some new directions for serving our community at all kinds of life events.” “Look for improvements in the coming months to make our facility a place for small weddings, parties and corporate events, in addition to life celebrations,” said Smith.
Evergreen Washelli has been in business since 1938. The Bothell location is at 18224 103rd Ave. N.E., just north of Main Street in downtown. Evergreen Washelli also has sites in Seattle and Brier.
