The Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce proudly announced its Member of the Month – Andrya Rytter owner of Level Seven Salon – during its May general meeting.
Rytter brings 25 years of experience as a hair stylist to her role of local business owner. With a vision that began in 2007, she knew she needed to create a work environment that she wanted to work in. Through the support of her family, hard work and a positive spirit, she opened Level Seven Salon in September 2011, located in the Heart of Bothell just off of Main Street.
Rytter said that as a child her parents had her pitch ‘a proposal’ to earn things like playing baseball or getting a bike. It instilled in her a great work ethic and helped her to understand the value of setting goals and the importance of ‘making lists’ with all the tactics needed to reach them. With that early guidance, she took a class and learned how to write a business plan that she presented to her parents. In that plan, she outlined creative ideas that included wine walks, ladies night out and showcasing art and artists.
Today, some of those early ideas are coming to fruition. Level Seven Salon participated in the Vintage Bothell Wine Walk on June 7 and she is working on an art walk event in downtown Bothell coming in July.
Rytter is a big believer in giving back to her professional community and regularly invites fellow independent stylist to free workshops at the Level Seven Salon. She plans on continuing to build a supportive community through cooperation and collaboration, rather than competition. She strongly believes that every hair stylist has something unique to offer and raising the skill level of her peers and colleagues only improves the profession as a whole.
Learning from successful business owners is also a key element to Rytter’s plan for growing her business. She joined the Bothell Chamber and Downtown Action Committee and recently helped to launch The Heart of Bothell Main Street Facebook page, created to highlight all of the great businesses in the Downtown Shopping District of Bothell. She worked on her own for 10 months until she brought in stylists Kendall and Rhonda and formed her team. Recently, she decided to hold a ribbon cutting event through the Bothell Chamber to promote her business, and to introduce and celebrate her team.
Rytter’s motto is the quote by Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
From sharing a simple smile with someone on Main Street, to celebrating a neighbor’s new roof she radiates happiness.
“We want to be that salon in Bothell… the one that builds relationships and is known for happiness,” Rytter said.
Level Seven Salon is located just off of Main Street, in the Heart of Bothell.
All three stylists – Andie, Kendall, Rhonda – are expert hair colorists, and soon to be certified hair color masters.
